Development resources
Use the resources below to catch up on missed lessons, learn more about your subteam, and get more practice.
The Software subteam uses Java to develop and program the robot’s code. This subteam maximizes the robot’s performance on the field by coding its autonomous routines, driver controls, and vision systems. During the offseason training, you will learn how to design, develop, and test the code that powers the robot.
RESOURCES:
The Design subteam creates the robot’s mechanical design through Onshape, a digital program used for Computer Aided Design (CAD). During the offseason training, you will learn how to CAD a subsystem of the robot and efficiently prototype during build season.
RESOURCES:
The Fabrication subteam manufactures robot components using lathe and milling machinery, CNCs, and more. This subteam turns digital designs into physical parts with extreme precision. During the offseason training, you will learn how to operate all of the machines in the shop through hands-on projects to fabricate any robot part.
RESOURCES:
The Electrical subteam wires the robot’s electrical system while designing a clean, efficient layout that ensures strong signal communication and power distribution. This subteam is the bridge between mechanical and software, bringing subsystems to life. During the offseason training, you will learn practical skills such as crimping and soldering, as well as the importance of preplanned layouts and wiring safety.
