HISTORY

Team 670, or Homestead Robotics, was founded in 2001 at Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. The team has competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition all but one year since its inception.

In 2008, 670 made it to the top 8 at the Silicon Valley Regional, qualifying for playoffs for the first time. 670 has performed consistently at competitions ever since, normally coming within the top 15 at regionals and participating in the playoffs. In the offseason, Team 670 typically attends local competitions such as CalGames and Chezy Champs.

In 2019, Team 670 moved from Homestead High School’s Journalism classroom to the newly built Innovation Hub, nearly doubling the amount of space we had. In the I-Hub, the team has their own shop space, housed in the larger maker space which is also home to the school’s engineering classes.

In 2024, Team 670 won the Arizona East Regional as the Alliance One captain, achieving our first regional win in team history! This led to us qualify for the FIRST World Championships in Houston, Texas. During the 2024 offseason, Team 670 competed at Chezy Champs, and won the event as the second pick of Alliance One.

Team 670 currently has 90+ students in 9th through 12th grade, and aims to give students hands on engineering experience, develop soft skills and create a welcoming community for all.
